TRENTOFILMFESTIVAL: 56 YEARS OLD AND NO SIGNS OF AGING!

In response to the Province of Trento’s survey carried out last year to determine opinion among the Festival’s audience, we have prepared an even richer programme for the fifty-sixth Trentofilmfestival. This is our way to thank all the friends of the Trentofilmfestival who have shown appreciation for our work over the years. Every year we look for new challenges and our commitment is to improve the Festival and extend its duration, providing more films, more books, more guests, and more evening events. We are not short of topics. The world’s breathtaking landscapes, its people, and its mountains are the inspiration for our Festival and our passion is to show this beauty with respect and recognition of the natural settings in which it is seen.

This year the Festival will be environmentally friendly and we will try to set a good example, so that all can live in a better world. For years now Trentofilmfestival has not just provided a prestigious film review, but a film feast of meetings, investigation and learning. It is a promotion for the whole mountain world, brought to our audiences using all the technologic developments at our disposal. This year will see the launch of a new website and mountain web-TV which will be a new way to “travel” around the world and to show our films to a wider audience - a new limitless way to share experiences, events and news.

From 26th April to 5th May, Trento will become the world capital of mountaineering, exploration and adventure cinema; a multiplicity of documentary films for those who love the real world and want to escape from the illusions of the virtual “reality”. The real world is really fantastic! You just need to know how to look at it, how to find the time to lift your downward gaze, to turn away from the hypnotic television screens that are becoming more and more bulky, ugly, and dominant - maybe just by coming to Trento, travelling with the protagonists in their journeys and sharing an expedition, an adventure, all together!
