Just a click to open a window on the world
This year, eighty percent of the movies have been submitted to the festival online. This is important data. The Festival website and its Web TV are becoming a popular feature among the friends of the mountain and the Festival. Not bad for an event which is now 57-years old!
We won the technological challenge we faced up to last year. The guests, the round tables, the exhibitions, the presentation clips of the movies and the evening events: all this is stored on the web and it is now available, in real time, for a worldwide audience of fans. Our job does not end in the week of the festival. We create online content that remains accessible on the Internet retracing the way the movies came to us.
Even though this is my fifth year as the Artistic Director of the Trentofilmfestival I am still amazed by our progress, and I feel we can run new challenges, well rewarded by the atmosphere and town that support us. We can also be proud of the solid results confirmed by scrupulous statistics. Every year we try to better communicate the culture for the mountain, for the environment and for man, without which we would be doomed to wither away watching hypnotic plasma screens full of virtual colours.
Also this year an event-filled programme is waiting for us, a rich offering available for every spectator, who is free to pick their favourite topic. To give you the chance to have, at any time of day, a good reason why you came once again to Trento. The satisfaction of our many friends is what encourages us even in the most difficult moments. Sharing the dreams of those who have dared to challenge their own limits makes us feel powerful.
As we did in the past years we have tried to open windows on new human landscapes, new geographic angles, new reflections of topics - not to remain prisoners of a claustrophobic reality show which forces us to fake living while watching the others screaming.
