39th ITAS Mountain Book Prize

From its introduction in 1971 to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the ITAS foundation - Istituto Trentino Alto Adige per Assicurazioni, the first and oldest business in the Italian indurance market, the Itas Mountain Book Award sets out to recognize works which are important for the mountain cultural values expresses through literature and essay-writing, along with scientific and technical publications relating to the natural Alpine environment, to exploration, to dissemination of knowledge and safeguarding of land and water, to mountain sport guidebooks and manuals. 104 publications have been inscribed to the 39th Itas Book Award 2010.

The members of the panel of judges for the ITAS Prize which awards the “Cardo d’oro” and the “Cardi d’argento” will be Ulderico Bernardi, university lecturer and writer, Franco Giacomoni,  SAT - Società degli Alpinisti Tridentini, Alberto Papuzzi journalist and mountaineer, Annibale Salsa university lecturer and writer, Gino Tomasi writer, distinguished director of Trento’s Natural Science Museum, the Museo Tridentino di Scienze Naturali di Trento, Joseph Zoderer writer, Luciana Povoli secretary.
