
The sections
INTERNATIONAL COMPETITIONS
The films admitted to the competition will be judged by an International Jury that may award the following prizes:
Gran Premio “Città di Trento” - Gold Gentian and 5000 Euro for the best film of all, possessing high artistic qualities, that corresponds to the cultural aims pursued by the Festival.
Italian Alpine Club Prize Gold Gentian and 3000 Euro for the best film on mountains and mountaineering.
City of Bolzano Prize - Gold Gentian and 3000 Euro for the best film on sport, exploration, or adventure.
Silver Gentian and 1500 Euro for the best short film.
Silver Gentian and 1500 Euro for the best television production.
Silver Gentian and 1500 Euro for the best artistic technical contribution.
A Jury Prize may also be awarded.
Apart from th “International Competition”, there is also the category entitled “Informative Sections” featuring specific subjects. The films participating in these sections may compete for other awards.
Fiction
Presents a number of full-length films out of competition.
Orizzonti
Presents films narrating the high altitude lands of the world, the life and civilisations of mountain people and, in particular, the mountain, exploration and adventure films of developing countries.
Vitalpina
Reserved for films on the populations, personages, landscapes and mountains of the Alpine regions.
Alp&ism
A view of the recent events in the mountaineering world and sport in the mountains.
