Trento, the unique charm of an Alpine Renaissance city

In every season the city of Trento offers the visitor its historic and artistic heritage, which can be appreciated strolling through the streets in the historic centre and visiting the many museums that house precious collections and temporary exhibitions.

The route through the historic centre, starting from Buonconsiglio Castle and ending in piazza Duomo, gives you the chance to admire the most beautiful frescoed palazzos in the city.

Via San Marco, via Manci and via Belenzani are the main streets of the route that branches off into a dense network of streets, alleyways and squares, where you can find other historic and artistic buildings, the characteristic arcades of via Suffragio, ancient towers and battlemented walls, and the underground archaeological area of the Sass where you can admire some remains of the Roman “Tridentum”.

Along this route the Renaissance blends harmoniously with other styles of architecture, like the Gothic, the Romanesque and the Baroque.
